Aged Women Protest Nude To Seek Sowore Release,

There is a mild drama at Federal High Court in Abuja today as half nude women protested against continue detention of the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, and his co-accused, Olawale Bakare.

The women who were in white wrappers and bra with no clothes covering the upper parts of their bodies demanded the immediate release of Sowore.

They stayed by the gate brandishing their placards with various inscriptions calling for Mr Sowore’s release.

Many of the aged women with grey hair, speaking in their local dialect, appealed to President Buhari to release their son from custody.

They were believed to be from Mr Sowore’s village, in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Some of their placards read: “Sowore is not a criminal, release our son now.”

Also when the matter came up, the presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, adjourned till tomorrow for the SSS to comply with the fresh release order of 24hours or face the wrath of law.

Sowore and Bakare are facing a seven-count charge of treasonable felony, fraud, cyber-stalking and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.

There have been growing calls for their release, with many condemning the government of President Buhari for their arrests and charges.

The defendants were returned to custody by the SSS operatives
