
Police have arraigned a 20-year-old cattle rearer, Mohamadu Bello, before an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly destroying farm produce valued at N3.8m belonging to four individuals in Ekiti.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Elijah Adejare, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 10 at Ido Ile Ekiti.
Inspector Adejare alleged that the defendant maliciously damaged farm produce valued at N1,000 belonging to one Awiye Olusola and farm produce valued at N2.8m belonging to Oni Samson.
The defendant also maliciously damaged farm produce valued at N1,000 belonging to Igbalajobi Adeyemi and farm produce valued at N2,000 belonging to Akinola Sunday.
The defendant was granted bail in the sum of N80,000 with one surety in like sum and the case was adjourned till September 6 for hearing.
In another case, two men, Hammed Abdulrasheed, 22, and Abiodun Aluko, 42, were granted bail after being arraigned for allegedly stealing a motorbike valued at N1.2m.
The defendants were each granted bail in the sum of N250,000 with one surety each in like sum, and the case was adjourned till September 27 for hearing.
