
The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police have arraigned two suspected cultist, Afeez Adigun and Ademola Akeem before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for illegal possession of firearms and being a member of a cult group.
Adigun and Akeem were arraigned on a five count charge bordering on membership of a cult group, unlawful possession of firearms and a breach of the public peace.
When the matter was called, the Police prosecutor, Mr. Temitope Fatoba told the court that the defendants were caught with guns and live cartridges which they were not authorised to possess.
He urged the court to remand the defendant while praying for short trial date.
Upon their not guilty plea, defence counsel, Mr. I. Durosinmi urged the court to admit the defendants bail pointing out that it is a bail-able offence.
But, the Police prosecutor opposed it adding that the defendants conducted themselves in a violent manner.

In her ruling, Magistrate (Mrs) Adebola Ajanaku, admitted the defendants bail in the sum of five hundred thousand naira each with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till December 18, 2019.
