Lagos Dislodge Land Grabbers At Amuwo Odofin
Lagos State Government has send a warning note to land grabbers to desist from their illicit trade stressing that the State through its Task Force will bring the full wrath of the law on anybody who use force and intimidation to dispossess land owners from taken possession of property acquired.
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyo Onigbanjo gave this warning while advising all legitimate land and property owners in the State to perfect title documents as well as all other legal documents pertaining to their lands and properties saying this will help put land grabbers at bay and ensure easy administration of justice in the event that such properties are forcefully taken.
Shedding light on the recent raid by Task Force on Land Grabbers in Amuwo -Odofin Residential Scheme, the Attorney General explained that one Mrs Janet Johnson had petitioned his office through her solicitors to report the persistent encroachment and disruption of work on her land by land grabbers demanding justice and right of possession of her land.
In a news release signed by his
Principal Public Affairs Officer, Bukola Bakare, Attorney General pointed out that after investigation into the petitioner claims the Ministry found out that the said land indeed belong to her which prompt the raid.
While noting that the dislodgement raid is in continuation of the renewed drive of the present administration to put an end to the illicit activities of land encroachers and grabbers in the State, the Commissioner for Justice said that all illegal structures constructed by land grabbers on the land were pulled down during the enforcement.
Onigbanjo noted that the zero tolerance stance against land grabbing and land encroachment by the Governor Sanwo-Olu’s led administration is very clear.
He assured that every legitimate interest and investment made on land and property in Lagos State would be protected by Government.
