
A Kwara State Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin has ordered that two herdsmen, Dahiru and Bain Mohammed, who allegedly shot to death a farmer, Samuel Agaba, be remanded in a correctional centre.
The Magistrate Mohammed Ibrahim, gave the order following the arraignment of the herders on a two-counts charge by the Nigeria Police.
The charges borders on Criminal Conspiracy and Culpable homicide, contrary to sections 97 and 226 of Penal Code Law.

Magistrate Ibrahim ordered that the herdsmen be remanded at Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin while adjourning the case until March 23, for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Folorunsho Zacheaus, told the court that the herdsmen shot Agaba when he was trying to stop them from grazing their cattle to destroy his cashew farm at Ilemona on Feb.11.
Zacheaus said that the investigation into the matter was ongoing and prayed the court to remand the herdsmen.
The herdsmen, however, pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences.
