The Centre for Law & Civil Culture (CLCC) has asked the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to comply with a Federal High Court judgment ordering the disclosure of revenue generated from toll gates and parking lot fees in all federal government-owned airports.
The court also directed FAAN to provide details of the revenue to the public interest applicant, The Registered Trustees of The Centre for Law & Civil Culture.
Justice Ibrahim Kala granted the order and gave the federal agency three months to comply.
The applicant filed a suit after FAAN failed to grant its freedom of information request of August 24, 2022.
FAAN complied with the order by disclosing the total sum generated from January 2015 to date but did not provide information on how much it remitted to the Federal government from January 2015 to January 2024.
The Executive Secretary of the Registered Trustees of the Centre for Law & Civil Culture, Abdulganeey Imran, wrote a letter dated April 18, 2024, reminding FAAN to fully comply with the court order.
In the letter, Imran demanded that FAAN provide evidence of the remittance of such sums in conformity with the court’s judgment.
