Court Convict’s Yahoo Boy Olabode Solomon

A Yahoo Boy, Olabode Solomon has been sentence to six months imprisonment for being in possession of fraudulent documents.

Olabode Solomon was convicted by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of a Special Offences Court in Ikeja.

In tempering Justice with mercy, the court however gave the convict an option of N200,000 fine in lieu of imprisonment.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had arraigned the convict on a one count charge offence bordering possession of fraudulent documents and for falsely presenting himself as Justin.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.

During resumption of trial, EFCC Counsel, Franklin Ofoma informed the court that they have filed a plea bargain agreement and a review of facts of the case dated November 2.

He said that the prosecution has adopted the statement and review of fact of the case.

Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Uloaku Nnoli did not object to the facts of the case.

Justice Taiwo consequently convicted the defendant as charged.

In her allocutus, Mrs Nnoli urged the court to temper justice with mercy saying that the defendant was a first time offender, remorseful and has vowed not to commit the offence again.

She pleaded with the court to grant him non-custodial sentence.

In her judgment, Justice Taiwo ordered that the iPhone found in possession of the convict be forfeited to the Federal Government.
