
A Federal High Court presiding in Abeokuta, Ogun State has found two internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” Ridwan Garuba and Adebayo Agbabiaka, guilty as charge for their involvement in scamming people.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned the convicts on separate charges of fraud and impersonation.
They pleaded guilty to the charges.
Following their pleas, EFCC counsel, Shamsondeen Bashir, urged the court to convict them accordingly.

Justice Mohammed Abubakar subsequently convicted and sentenced Garuba to five months’ imprisonment with effect from the date of his arrest, while Agbabiaka was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment with effect from the date of his arrest.
The judge ordered that Garuba, who had already refunded the sum of $1,000 to his victim through the Federal Government, should forfeit his three phones.
Abubakar ordered Agbabiaka to forfeit his iPhone mobile phone to the Federal Government, being part of the benefit he derived from his fraudulent act.
