Land Merchant Abubakar Mayaki Charged in Connection with Agbowa LG Staff’s Death

A land merchant has been indicted over the death of an Agbowa LG employee, Kazeem Idowu Keshinro.

In an ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of Agbowa LG Staff, a well-known land merchant in Lagos, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman Mayaki, CEO of MYK Land and Properties Ltd, along with one other defendant has been charged with murder.

Following the indictment the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP paraded him with one Akande Omogbemi before a Lagos State Magistrate Court on two counts of charges.

The Nigeria Police had previously brought four suspects, Mukaila Salawu (also known as Actor), Tiyamiyu Ahmed, Wasiu Suleimon, and Ibrahim Ekemode before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi in relation to the murder. Omogbemi and Mayaki were declared as at large.

During the court appearance, the prosecuting counsel, Mrs Abiola Adeoye, informed the court of the development and requested their remand order pending the issuance of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

The defendant’s counsel, Bright Uleyo, opposed the remand order application, arguing that there was no material fact before the court to grant such an application.

These actions are considered offences under the Criminal Laws Cap. Ch.Vol.3 Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

He was later found in a video recounting the incident while soaked in his pool of blood with his body riddled with bullets.
