The trial of a land agent, Abiodun Ibrahim Mansur, is scheduled to begin on November 8 at the Lagos State Chief Magistrate Court in Tinubu.

Abiodun Mansur faces four charges brought by the Nigeria Police, including obtaining money by false pretence, forgery, and stealing a sum of N3,290,500.

It is alleged that Abiodun Ibrahim Mansur and one Mukadam obtained N3,290,500.00 seven times from the family of Olaniyi Bashir Elias and Adebola Rebecca Elias by falsely claiming to procure a title consent document at the Lands office in Alausa Ikeja for their property at Lakowe Town, Ibeju Lekki Area.

The charges are in violation of section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The police prosecutor, Gbenga Salami, requested the court to take the defendant’s plea.

Mansur pleaded not guilty to all four charges.

Following the plea, the defence counsel, I.O. Lala, requested bail on the grounds that the defence was prepared to prove their innocence.

In response, Magistrate E. O. Ogunkanmi granted bail in the amount of N500,000 and required two sureties in the same amount. One surety must be a family member, while the other must be a Civil Servant. Both sureties must provide evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government as well as verified addresses.
