
Paata Abiodun Kingdom in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State witnessed a momentous occasion as Oba Olufemi Abiodun Martins was formally installed as the Olu of the community.
The coronation was carried out on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, who is also the paramount ruler and head of the traditional institution in the state.
In his remarks, the Alake congratulated the newly installed monarch and offered prayers for a peaceful and impactful reign.
He urged Oba Martins to be a true representative of his people by prioritising their welfare, remaining law-abiding, and upholding loyalty to the Ogun State Government.
Governor Abiodun, through the Alake, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the monarch, encouraging him to uphold the traditions and values passed down by his forebears.
Oba Martins had previously been presented with his staff of office before this official installation.
In his acceptance speech, the monarch expressed gratitude to the state government, the Alake, and his community for their support.
He pledged to serve diligently and work towards the growth and development of Paata Abiodun Kingdom.
The coronation ceremony attracted a host of dignitaries, including the Olunla of Otta, Otunba Lanre Martins; Olori Remilekun Martins; Olori Adenike Martins; Olori Aderoju Martins; Oluwo Hammad; Chief Akeem Famuyiwa; Chief Mrs Sarah Famuyiwa; Chief Wale Okunade; Princess Blessing Martins; Princess Abimbola Martins; Mrs Funmilayo Martins; Chief Ishmael Dawodu; Chief Mrs Folake Olukuawu (Otun Iyalode of Paata Abiodun); Chief Mrs Amoke Kushimo (Iyalode of Paata Abiodun); and Mr. Ranti Thomas, Publisher of Royal Times.
Speaking after the ceremony, Olori Remilekun Martins, on behalf of the royal family, thanked the community and government for bestowing the honour on Oba Martins.
She assured that the wives of the monarch would work closely with him to foster peace and unity in the kingdom.
