
The Nigeria Police has arraigned alleged armed robbery gang who killed a trader, Chidi Onwukwe before Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
The suspects are Samuel Onwukwe, Promise George, and Blessed Onyekachi Nathan.
Chidi Onwukwe was, in January, murdered in his home in Elelenwo, Port Harcourt.
According to police, the killers made away with his phones and other valuables, as they also transferred money from his bank account.

Subsequently, the police filed four-count charge of conspiracy to armed robbery, illegal possession of arms and murder against the trio after the conclusion of investigation.
They however pleaded not guilty to the charges when it was read to them.
Prosecution counsel Essien Edet prayed that in view of the plea, the defendants be remanded pending substantive trial.
But defence counsel, John Williams opposed him and made an oral bail application, which the court refused.

Justice Sylvester Popnen ruled that an oral bail application could not stand considering the nature of the offence.
The judge ordered that the three defendants be remanded in Port Harcourt Correctional Services Centre pending their bail applications.
Thereafter the court adjourned till December 15 and 16, and January 27, for trial.
