
Court Send Rapist Suspects To Prison Pending Trial
An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court, has ordered the remand of two suspected rapist at correctional facility pending legal advice from the Office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The two suspects, Durodola Kayode and Owajulu Tobi, were arraigned separately by the Nigeria Police before Magistrate Mojisola Salau.
Durodola Kayode, a 64-year-old was arraigned for allegedly raping his step-mother on June 13 at Ayetoro-Ekiti.
While Owajulu Tobi is alleged to have rape a minor, 17-year-old girl on June 15 at Emure-Ekiti.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adejare Elijah, told the court that the offence contravenes Section 358 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

He urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre, pending legal advice.
The plea of the defendants was, however, not taken.
The Magistrate, Mrs Mojisola Salau, ordered the remand of the defendants in the correctional facility, pending issuance of legal advice.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case till July 5, for mention.
