A Sexual Offence and Domestic Violence Court has ordered the remand of Opebi Secondary School staff, Babatunde Fashogbon, in prison following his arraignment for allegedly raping a colleague in a school library.
The Department of Public Prosecution, DPP, arraigned Fashogbon on a three-count charge which borders on rape, sexual assault and sexual assault by penetration.
Fashogbon alleged offences violated Sections 260, 261 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge upon his arraignment.
Subsequently, the prosecutor, Ms Abimbola Abolade, sought for a trial date to enable DPP to prove the case against him.

Ms. Abolade alleged the defendant raped his 21-year-old colleague, by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
She told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 21, during school hours in the library of Opebi Secondary School, Ikeja.
The prosecutor submitted that the defendant sexually assaulted the survivor by fondling her breast and inserting his penis into her mouth.
The defence counsel, Mr Pedro Lawal, SAN, pleaded with the court for a quick trial date in the interest of justice.
Justice Abiola Soladoye, thereafter adjourned the case until Jan. 16, 2023 for trial.
