
A cleric from the United Kingdom (UK), Pastor Paul-Kayode Joash, has been remanded in prison for allegedly defrauding three persons out of N305 million.
Joash, the Senior Pastor of The Great House Nation Church, located at the former BJ Rentals building bordering Sango Cemetery in Ibadan, allegedly collected the huge sum from the three people.
The funds were intended to procure sponsorship certificates for healthcare workers seeking to migrate to the UK.
The cleric was arrested in his church by police following a report from the victims.

According to investigation reports, the cleric charged between £3,500 and £5,500 per candidate but failed to provide certificates after one year.
The police arraigned Joash before a magistrate’s court in Ibadan on October 30, 2023
A 10-count charge of obtaining money under pretence, punishable under the state’s criminal code, was filed against him.
According to the police, he obtained N134,823,750 from one victim, N30 million from another, N135,177,750 from one, and N5,881,000 from another.
