Middle Age Man Dock Over Sexual Assault of Minor

Lagos State government has arraigned a middle aged man Moses Joseph before a Special Offences Court for allegedly having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor “13 year old girl”.

According to the charge against him, the defendant on the 17th September, 2020, at about 11:00p.m at 25, Kadiri Street, Alausa, Ikeja, was said to have indulged in the act of indecent treatment of the girl (names withheld) by putting his finger in her vagina and making her suck his penis.

He however pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge levelled against him.

Upon his plea, the State counsel, Mrs. Yetunde Alebiosu asked for a trial to enable the prosecutor proof the case against him.

On defense part, the defendant lawyer, Mr. Henry Obidinma, informed the court that he has filed a bail application urging the judge to grant him bail in most liberal terms.

In a counter reaction, Mrs Alebiosu who said the state would be opposing the application pray for time to respond to the application.

She noted that it was just this morning the defendant lawyer served him with a copy in court.

Subsequently, the trial judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo ordered the remand of the defendant in prison facility while adjourning trial till November, 9, 2021.
