Naira Abuse: Bobrisky Landed in Ikoyi Zoo after Altercation with Zazzu

‘I Am A Man,’ Bobrisky Tells Court

A controversial transgender Bobrisky has been used as a scapegoat to serve as a deterrent to others who enjoy abusing Nigerian currency by spraying at events.

Bobrisky can be seen abusing naira in the course of celebrating his award as a best female dresser at a movie premiere. The video of the event went viral following his altercation with a Nigerian artist, Zazzu who condemned the award.

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC subsequently picked Bobrisky up and charged him to court.

Bobrisky is to spend six months in Ikoyi Correctional Facility (Zoo) with hard labour

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky, to six months in jail with no option of a fine.

“Enough of people mutilating and tampering with our currencies. It has to stop.”

Before the sentence, the judge asked about his sex, and he quickly replied that he was a man.

Bobrisky has always stirred controversy as he appears in public functions in female costumes and 2021, he revealed a new physical appearance to become more feminine after surgery.

The controversial cross-dresser pleaded guilty to the charge of naira abuse.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Thursday, April 4, filed six counts of money laundering and abuse of naira against him.

Bobrisky pleads guilty to naira abuse charge

On Friday, April 5, EFCC arraigned Bobrisky in court on a six-count charge ranging from Abuse of the Naira and Money laundering.

The court, however, dismissed the money laundering charges but convicted him of Naira Abuse after he confessed to the crime.
