President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on the occasion of his 60th birthday, celebrated on January 8.
The President praised Kyari for his diligent efforts in transforming NNPCL into a profitable organization.
He highlighted that, despite scepticism from some quarters, the NNPCL has achieved significant milestones under Kyari’s leadership.
These accomplishments include the revival of two refineries, an increase in domestic natural gas consumption, and a rise in oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day.
President Tinubu commended Kyari’s unwavering dedication to public service and the professionalism he has demonstrated throughout his distinguished career with NNPC, OPEC, and as the first Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL.
“Kyari is a shining example and embodies the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda. I commend his commitment to creating new opportunities and ensuring the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s energy sector,” said President Tinubu.
He also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Kyari continued good health, wisdom, and strength as he serves the nation and mentors the next generation of leaders in the energy sector.
