Police Arraigns Armed Robber Terrorizing Agege Area

The Nigeria Police have arraigned a man named Nasiru Mohammed before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for allegedly conspiring to commit robbery and facing multiple robbery charges.

The defendant is charged with one count of conspiracy and seven counts of robbery.

The prosecuting counsel, O. A. Azeez, informed the court that the defendant, along with others who remain at large, conspired to commit the alleged offences.

According to police reports, the incidents took place on July 4, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the AP Filling Station on Bakare Lane in Agege, Lagos.

Azeez stated that the defendant was armed with a cutlass when he robbed one Atokan Abiodun of her Techno-Pro 7 phone, valued at N87,000, and her Nokia phone, worth N20,000. Additionally, he was accused of robbing James Adeku of N20,000.

Furthermore, the prosecutor alleged that on the same day, the defendant also robbed Ukuma Faith and Nnapana Joseph of an Infinix Hot 12 phone valued at N77,000.

He was also alleged to have robbed Akinboye Sunday of a Techno phone valued at N55,000, Effiong Isaac of a Techno phone worth N22,000, and other personal belongings.

Additionally, he was charged with robbing Audu Ugojuju of an undisclosed amount and Kayode Oyemola of a Techno Pop 5 phone valued at N55,000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

Justice Oyindamola Ogala has adjourned the case until November 11, 2024, for the continuation of the trial.
