Ekiti State Loses Chief Judge, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye

Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary health institution in Ekiti after a brief illness.

While the official details surrounding his death have not been disclosed, sources have informed our reporter that he died following a short stay in the hospital.

Justice Adeyeye was sworn in as Chief Judge on October 11, 2021, by former Governor Kayode Fayemi.

He was born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, located in the Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State, and was called to the bar in 1986.

He began his career as a State Counsel in the civil service of the old Ondo State before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission shortly after Ekiti State was established in 1996.

He was appointed as a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and served at various times on election petition tribunals.
