ForceCID Lawyer Morufu Animashaun Bags Distinguished Legal Service Award
A Legal Officer with the Force Criminal Investigation Department (ForceCID), Annex, Barrister Morufu Ajani Animashaun, has received the Distinguished Legal Service Award in recognition of his contributions to justice administration and service in the Nigeria Police Force.
The award was presented to Animashaun by Kokoafricatv for his professionalism, integrity, ethical conduct and dedication to legal service.
In the citation accompanying the award, the organisers commended Animashaun for his commitment to excellence, ethical leadership and contributions to the pursuit of justice and public service.
The citation described him as a legal practitioner whose sound legal intellect and principled approach to duty have earned him recognition within and beyond the Police Force.
The management and team of Franinoh Media Production also congratulated him on the honour, describing it as recognition of his distinguished service.
Reacting to the award, Animashaun expressed gratitude to Almighty God and thanked the media outfit for the recognition.
He said the honour would motivate him to intensify his efforts in discharging his responsibilities as a legal officer in the Nigeria Police Force.
The latest recognition adds to a growing list of awards and commendations received by Animashaun for his legal and prosecutorial work.

In 2018 and 2021, he received the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) Excellence Award.
He was also named Criminal Prosecutor of the Year in 2019 and received the Global Peace Ambassador Award from the World Organization of Ambassadors in 2021.
Other recognitions include the City Pride Achievers Award as Outstanding Legal Icon of the Year in 2021 and the Best Prosecutor of the Year Award presented by the National Association of Judicial Correspondents (NAJUC) in 2024.
In November 2021, he received a Commendation Certificate presented by Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Usman Al-Hassan Belel, on behalf of the then Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
Animashaun was also listed as a member of the National Security Agencies Committee in 2025.
On June 5, 2025, he received an Inspector-General of Police Award of Commendation.
His latest accolade includes the 2026 RAFA Award as Best Prosecuting Police Officer, presented on March 28, 2026.
The Distinguished Legal Service Award further adds to the recognitions associated with his career in police legal service and prosecution
