
A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Iyaganku area of Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered the remand of an apprentice, Aliu Oladeji, pending legal advice.
Aliu Oladimeji was docked by the police following twist of fate as he allegedly beat a thief to death.
According to the police, Oladeji, who resides in the Ayeda-ade area, conspired with others in his street to commit the offence.
The police counsel, Inspector Foluke Adedosu, told the court that Oladeji on March 4, around 2.30am, caused the death of one Sodiq, when he beat him to death.

Adedosu informed the court that the offence is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under sections 319 and 324 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The Magistrate, I. O. Osho, who did not take the plea of Oladeji, ordered the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
Subsequently, the court ordered that Aliu Oladeji, should be remanded in the Abolongo Custodial Centre, Oyo town.
The matter has been adjourned till July 4, for mention.
