Public Presentation of CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola’s Autobiography On August 22

Plans have been finalized for the public presentation of the autobiography of Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, in the capital city of Abuja.

The event is set to take place on 22 August 2024 at the International Conference Centre.

The autobiography is titled “Judging with Justice” and is scheduled to be unveiled on the Hon. Jurist’s birthday.

It provides an engaging narrative of the life and career of Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

The event is expected to be graced by dignitaries including former Head of State, His Excellency, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR, and His Lordship Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, OFR, who will serve as the Book Reviewer.

The autobiography, which marks Hon CJN’s retirement, offers a candid and introspective account of Justice Ariwoola’s journey through the ranks of the judiciary, highlighting his experiences, challenges, and triumphs.

The book is said to provide a rare glimpse into the mind of a judicial icon who has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s judicial landscape.

The public presentation will coincide with the 70th birthday and formal retirement of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and is expected to draw leading dignitaries from the Bench, the Bar, and the general public.

Hon. Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem, CFR, the President of the Court of Appeal, who wrote the Foreword, described the book as “written in Justice Ariwoola’s characteristic flowing prose and simple yet powerful language,” and stated that it “will take the reader on a colourful voyage of fascinating adventures starting from Iseyin, to Ile-Ife, to Akure, to Ibadan, to Oyo, to Kaduna, to Enugu, to Lagos, before finally culminating in Abuja like the climax of a blockbuster movie.”

The book presentation is anticipated to be a milestone event in the nation’s judicial history, offering a unique opportunity for legal practitioners, scholars, and the general public to gain insight into the life and times of one of Nigeria’s most respected jurists.
