Lagos, Nigeria – Dr. Ojo Ademola Oluwatosin, a renowned medical doctor and international consultant, has raised an urgent appeal to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos Attorney-General Lawal Pedro (SAN), and the Inspector General of Police over an alleged illegal attempt to seize his land in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Dr. Ojo, who planned to build a world-class specialist hospital on the property, claims his investment and safety are under threat from suspected land grabbers.
According to his lawyer, Mr. Ayodele Osanyinlusi, Dr. Ojo legally acquired the land from Churchgate Nigeria Ltd in 2020, secured the Governor’s consent, and registered it with the Bureau of Lands, Lagos State. He also obtained building approvals from the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPA).
Trouble reportedly began in 2023 when armed men, posing as members of the Lagos State Task Force, stormed the construction site, evicted workers, and vandalized materials worth over ₦30 million. Investigations later revealed they were imposters.
Despite police intervention and a court order restraining the alleged land grabbers, the harassment continued.
The suspects are Tunji Solaja, Tope Bolarinde, Engineer Peter Omotosho, and Starmark Finance Company Ltd allegedly boast of political connections, further complicating the case.
Dr. Ojo’s legal team escalated the matter to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Alagbon, but attempts were made to shift the case to FCID Abuja, where false claims led to the arrest of Dr. Ojo’s lawyer.
A Lagos High Court has since issued an interlocutory injunction stopping Starmark and its agents from entering or selling the land. However, violations of the court order persist.
Calling the situation a “blatant abuse of power,” Dr. Ojo urged authorities to intervene, warning that continued inaction threatens both his vision for improved healthcare and the integrity of property rights in Lagos.
The case remains in court as Dr. Ojo fights to protect his investment and see justice served.
