An Imo State High Court, sitting in Oweri, has nullifies the impeachment of Okorocha’s Deputy Governor, Jude Agbaso over allegations of N458m bribery
The state House of Assembly had on March 28, 2013, removed Agbaso from office based on allegations that he collected N458m and Red Label (alcoholic beverage) as bribes from a construction firm, J- pros.
Agbaso, who was then deputy to former Governor Rochas Okorocha, went to court to challenge his removal.
Delivering judgment on the case, the trial judge, Justice I. S. Opara, granted “a consent judgment” since the parties in the matter had opted to settle out of court.

Counsel for Agbaso, Chijioke Emeka, earlier informed the court that his client and the defendants including the state governor, the House of Assembly and the Chief Judge, had on February 1st, drafted terms of settlements and filed the same in court on February 2.
Briefing journalists after the court session, Agbaso’s lawyer explained that the consent judgment had nullified the impeachment of his client on March 28, 2013.
He also explained that with this judgment, his client was now entitled to enjoy the rights and privileges of a former deputy governor of the State.
Agbaso, who was also in court, expressed delight that justice had been finally served.
