Police Arraign TikToker Peller Over Coastal Road Confrontation
The Lagos State Police Command on Monday arraigned popular TikToker, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, alongside Bello Oladipo, before a Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba over their alleged confrontation with police officers on the Lekki Coastal Road.
The defendants were docked before Magistrate Owolabi on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, resisting public officers, and obstructing police officers in the discharge of their lawful duties.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on July 2, 2026, when police officers intercepted a vehicle allegedly being driven without a registration plate.
Peller reportedly told the officers the vehicle had just been purchased, but the police insisted it be taken to the station for proper verification.
The situation allegedly escalated after Peller began recording the encounter.

He later claimed the officers became aggressive, alleging that one of them pulled his shirt and pointed a firearm at him.
However, the police accused Peller and his co-defendant of resisting officers, obstructing them while carrying out their official duties, and recording and threatening officers during the operation.
The first charge alleged that the two defendants conspired to resist public officers, an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The second charge accused them of obstructing ASP Agbede Victor and three other police officers while they were performing their lawful duties, contrary to Section 117(1)(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The matter is expected to proceed before the Magistrate Court in line with the provisions of the law.
